About Toyo
I will be honest. I have no experience as a paid tutor. I have only volunteered to help tutor friends and fellow students, all of them saying that I helped them tremendously in their subject. However, I need to start somewhere and to be given a chance to put what I have learned to use. I believe that my experience and current status as a student will make me more relatable and approachable.

I prefer 1 on 1 instruction where I can explain and elaborate on material in a way that is personal for each student. I like to get who ever I am tutoring new and creative ways to imagine and think about a problem to make the subject less intimidating. It is a less "do this" and "do that" approach. I do not mind going step by step and explaining along the way why a particular process or answer is correct or incorrect. I will even work on a problem myself and compare answers to check for mistakes in the process, not necessarily the final answer.
