About Lance
An American undergraduate and graduate university education opened my eyes to a larger world of sport, recreation and leisure. A Māori boy who loved sport more than the equally important subjects of Maths, English and Geography l wanted to be a PE teacher (they seemed to have more of an influence on me than others). My sport, recreation, and exercise physiology experience and opportunities have allowed me to gain additional management skills while work and playing sport in the USA (11 years). , Japan ( 8 years) and New Zealand as my home land.

The exercise, fitness, leisure, sport, play and recreation environment is a dynamic industry. The focus on health and well being with-in this dynamic industry requires requires workers to be able to pivot towards the needs of clients, communities and ethnicities. One’s cultural capacity is an X factor with in the New Zealand and the Global sport, play, recreation and physical movement market place. Online learning equips one with current knowledge that is required to exist in this market space.
