About Jessica
I have a degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Cape Town (graduated in 2019), and completed my community service year in 2020. Prior to that, I matriculated with six distinctions in 2015 from St Mary’s DSG, Kloof, and have tutored a number of students of all ages in Mathematics throughout my school and university career.

My teaching methodology depends on the curriculum and level of each student that I tutor, as no one methodology will suit all. However, I do ensure that all my lessons are practice-based and I try to give the students some work to do at home, as I believe exposure and repetition are key to learning - particularly for Mathematics. I typically teach a concept, proceed to let the student attempt it on their own, and then offer further help, guidance or instruction as necessary. I am, however, very flexible in this style of teaching, because as an Occupational Therapist I understand that each person learns differently from the next, and so I always strive to find the best way to teach each particular student, and will change my teaching style should I see the need to do so.
