About Julia
I'm Julia! I have a Bachelor's degree from Queen's University in environmental biology, and I'm going to be starting a Master's in Resource and Environmental Management at Dalhousie University in September. I have a strong background in maths, sciences, english, and social studies. I spent several years teaching swimming lessons to children aged ~2-16. In my free time, I am a student of violin. I have studied the instrument for about 17 years now, and I am a member of an orchestra and frequently play in the pit bands for Queen's Musical Theatre performances.

I believe that all brains work in unique ways, and my educational philosophy centers around learning about your brain and presenting information in a way that makes sense to you! Education is so important for intellectual growth, emotional intelligence, and self-confidence.
My lesson plan will be unique to the student I'm teaching, but generally, I place a strong emphasis on critical thinking, creativity, and curiosity, and my main goal is to make learning fun and cultivate lifelong learners. I am comfortable teaching school-aged children and high school students.
