About Amelia
I’m currently studying Law at the University of Exeter. Although I went on to achieve strong grades, I didn’t always find things easy at the start, so I understand how challenging it can feel when you’re behind or not fully confident in a subject. Because of that, I’ve learnt how to approach topics in different ways and break things down so they actually make sense. I know what it takes to improve, and I focus on helping students build confidence as well as understanding, rather than just memorising content. I’m patient and approachable and I genuinely want to help you get the best grades you can. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.

I tailor all of my lessons to the individual student, as I know that everyone learns differently. My approach is structured but flexible, combining clear explanations with active practice to build both understanding and confidence. I focus particularly on exam technique, essay structure and helping students to express their ideas clearly, which is essential for success in subjects like English Literature, Geography and Latin.
In a typical lesson, we will begin by identifying any areas of difficulty, before working through key content together in a clear and accessible way. I then use guided practice questions and model answers to show what top-level responses look like, followed by independent practice where I give detailed, constructive feedback. I also incorporate revision strategies to help students retain information effectively.
Lessons are usually 30-60 minutes long, although I am happy to offer longer sessions if needed, particularly closer to exams.
