About Alice
I am a dedicated and approachable Civil Engineering student with a strong foundation in Mathematics and Chemistry. I understand that these subjects can be challenging, so I aim to make learning more straightforward by explaining concepts clearly and breaking complex problems into manageable steps.

My approach to tutoring Maths and Chemistry is patient, practical, and personalised. I focus on helping students understand the concepts behind each problem rather than simply memorising formulas or steps.
I use clear explanations, worked examples, step-by-step problem solving, and practice questions throughout each lesson. I encourage students to attempt problems themselves and then provide guidance and feedback where needed. This helps students develop both their understanding and confidence.
Lessons are typically 45–60 minutes, depending on the student's age, level, and learning goals. I can also adapt lessons around upcoming tests, assignments, or areas the student is struggling with.
As a university Civil Engineering student, I regularly use mathematics and scientific principles in my studies, giving me a strong practical foundation in both subjects. I aim to make lessons relaxed and supportive so students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from their mistakes.
My lessons are suitable for primary, intermediate and secondary school students, including students studying NCEA Mathematics and Chemistry.
