About Lisa
I am a graduate student in the Social Sciences with a BA in Visual Arts and Cultural Anthropology. I have taught English full time for a year before entering Academics to pursue Social Science research. I am fluent in both Russian and English and I scored higher that 98% of all American students on the GRE. I have experience running career workshops, tutoring students in IB and AP English and Literature courses, teaching English as a foreign language to beginners, intermediate and advanced students, as well as teaching writing and poetry workshops.

I will take a warm, and individual approach by seeing what the strength and weaknesses of each of my students are. In my lessons, I plan to outline the process of creating strong arguments in essay writting by closely working with students in the areas they need most support. I guarantee an improvement in critical thinking, rhetorics and vocabulary. I will also make sure my students feel confident in their ability to learn and achieve by emphasizing their strengths while improving the areas that need help. I believe that confidence and intrinsic engagement with the content is key for staying motivated and progressing forward!
