About Josef
I studied PPE at Durham University and recently finished an MPhil in Development Studies at the University of Cambridge. I was a war reporter in Syria and Eastern Ukraine and currently work as a freelance journalist, doing some research and tutoring on the side. What motivated me to become a tutor was that I enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge with other people, and am very passionate about exploring new teaching/learning methods and the role of education in society.

I’m convinced that even the most complicated concepts can be explained straightforwardly, believing that anyone can master any subject as long as they are given adequate support and teaching assistance.
Therefore, I always try to adjust my teaching methods to the student's specific needs, and have a positive teaching approach – encouraging my students to think, despite making mistakes, rather than putting them down.
My lessons typically last one hour, but I'm very flexible and always happy to adjust the length. The lessons can be complemented with extra exercises and explanatory material. I’m also open to students contacting me outside classes if they need additional advice/help.
