About Isabelle
My name is Izzy and I am currently a fourth year studying Geography and Management at the University of St Andrews. Having worked before with students at all levels, I have lots of experience under my belt. I have been passionate about Geography all throughout my school career, with this interest leading me to pursue it further at a university level. It is important for me to personalise each session and ensure that each student feels supported, as I believe confidence is an essential part of succeeding.

My sessions are planned in hour-long periods, usually beginning with a quick recap of the previous session, including a focus on what the pupil learnt, and further what their goals are for the upcoming session. For me, it is important to have session specific goals that are achievable, and more ambitious goals for the long-term. The session will then move towards a learning portion, with worksheets based on the session goals and an opportunity for any questions they may have. I also regularly use mind maps and other visual stimuli that make the session enjoyable. Finally, the session ends with an opportunity to test what they have learnt. The last five minutes will be dedicated to a reflective discussion, with aims for the next session and a chat about how the lesson went.
