About Luke
English is notoriously one of the hardest languages to learn, and even for native speakers it can be really confusing. Coming from an English nerd background (my mom was an English major), I’ve always loved reading and writing, and spent hours buried in stories. In high school, I took as many English classes as possible, and did any extra related activities I could to connect back to it. Landing the role of Editor-in-Chief of my school's newspaper my junior year, I also helped write my school's weekly newsletters and honed in on my practical writing skills. I earned a 5 on both my AP Lang Exam and my AP Lit Exam, as well as getting a perfect 36 on both the reading and English sections of my ACT, and a 780 on the English section of my SAT. I helped found the writing room for peer English tutoring my senior year of high school, so I have a good grasp on being able to understand and help others. Plus, I just applied to college last year so a lot of the essay writing skills I learned are still fresh in my mind. After applying to 26 schools (getting into 16 of them) and writing 60+ supplements, I have a pretty good idea of the best ways to go about college essays, and I would love to offer creative suggestions and feedback when needed.

Ready to meet you at any level. Love to get to chat and get to know you first, and then we can figure out the best ways to learn. Whether it’s teaching some fun and engaging ways I used to study for my exams, helping write essays for classes and college applications, or just getting a better grip on textual applications and understandings of English, I promise to make our time together productive, enjoyable, and hopefully relatable.
