About Gupta
I am a Computer Science student at the University of Leeds. My subject inevitably requires significant Mathematical knowledge and skills. I also have helped my friends and peers throughout high school in getting rid of this idea that Math is this difficult and daunting subject.
I think the issue is in the teachers being unable to simplify concepts for students causing gaps in their learning. The nature of Mathematics is such that if a student's foundational knowledge is weak, it is impossible to build on it with more complex chapters. So I aspire to show students how they can excel in this subject with ease through the right tutoring.

My approach to tutoring involves understanding the gaps that the student has in their concepts and filling these which gives them the confidence that what they are learning is not so difficult.
I encourage students to ask as many question as possible in order to not have any unresolved doubts and keep the interaction going. This also helps me understand where they are at with the subject and where we need to go from here.
Furthermore, I assess the students learning style and deliver knowledge to them in the best way they will understand. This teaching approach has come from 2 years of peer tutoring in and out of school where people would applaud me for clearing their doubts and making them understand topics they never did previously.
A typical lesson last 50 to 60 minutes, and I do provide students with practice exercises to do in their own time between lessons since practice is essential in Mathematics in order to stay in touch with and solidify their new knowledge.
