About Alisha
I have completed my first year in Biomedicine BSc (Hons) at university, and have been accepted to study Medicine MBChB in September.
I studied A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Maths and have a passion for Science. I started tutoring during my A Levels and enjoyed working with students and helping them learn and overcome any difficulties they may have understanding the Sciences.
I not only have a strong academic background, but have practical experience working at Great Ormond Street Hospital. This was through the Young Visitors Programme where I was chosen to shadow consultants. During my work experience, I observed Neurosurgery, Cardiovascular surgery and Laparoscopic surgery.

I use a variety of teaching techniques which include physically drawing out scientific content/processes in order for easier visualisation and memorisation for the student. Once content is covered and understood, I like to complete exam style questions with a student so they can comprehend how to write specific answers to gain maximum amount of marks available. Typical length of a lesson would be one hour long. The first 40-45 minutes would be learning the content and the rest would be put toward exam questions. I have completed my A Levels and GCSEs and I would like to share some advice and revision skills whilst also teaching GCSE content to current GCSE students. My most preferable subject to teach are GCSE biology and maths, as I am used to tutoring these topics to my peers and other students.
