About Preston
I am a student of political science: public policy at the University of California, San Diego. 3.8 GPA.
My passion has always been history and politics, which has translated to me pursuing a political science major at one of the best universities for that subject. That is why I believe my skills will best translate to a job helping those who believe they may struggle at APUSH in the near future.
However, my passion for politics hasn’t stopped me from doing well in math as well (780 Math SAT). Without a single tutor or a single purchased book, I was able to achieve a score in the top 99th percentile for the SAT on my first attempt.

For the SAT, simple practice is all that is necessary in order to achieve success. No need for expensive tutors with PhDs (I didn’t have one when I took the test), nor do you need expensive books that only take up closet space (I didn’t buy a single book.) I will help you or your student navigate the SAT like I did a couple years ago.
AP US history can be a difficult subject to learn because of the skills that need to be developed over time in reading comprehension and critical analysis. My generation pays attention to current world events, and my teaching style reflects that. By connecting contemporary political, historical, and cultural events in our current day with those of the past, my students will learn to interpret history like an academic, making essays, short answer questions and multiple choice questions much much easier to answer. History is interesting, I can make it so.
