About Shelby
I have a background in the biosciences, having studied an MSci in Pharmacology at University College London.
My specialisms are biology and chemistry, although do teach physics at KS3.
The most important thing to me as a teacher/tutor is that I fully understand each of my students‘ goals, strengths and weaknesses. In this way, I can tailor my lessons and teaching style for each individual, and successfully work together towards their goals.

I offer all 3 sciences at KS3 or below and specialise in Biology and Chemistry at GCSE and A-Level.
My approach to teaching and tutoring involves getting to know my student’s strengths and weaknesses in order to best help them achieve their aims.
My lessons are personalised for each individual student so that they best suit how the student learns.
I make use of many different learning tools such as notes, diagrams and mind maps, videos, quizzes and practice questions. This, coupled with use of technology helps to make my lessons engaging and effective.
I also focus on perfecting student exam technique so they are fully confident in sitting their exams.
My qualifications include an MSci in Pharmacology from University College London and a PGCE from the University of Gibraltar.
Over the past year I have completed my teacher training, teaching at a large secondary state school as well as a small private secondary school. I have been private tutoring over this last year and am moving to virtual lessons for the convenience.
