About Amy
Hey everyone! I'm Amy, a high schooler attending Oxford Academy, a top school in California. I have always been comfortable with tutoring peers, and I've also tutored an ESL student for two years, helping her meet middle-school standards for math and English Language Arts. I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA and helped a student who mostly earned C’s earn Honor Roll in just one year. I tutor because I enjoy seeing progress and accomplishment in my students, and I love supporting them as a friend as well!

I like to connect with people on a casual basis, getting to know them throughout lessons to see where I can help them learn the best. I never criticize people or make them feel disappointed in themselves; my philosophy in teaching is to make my students feel confident in themselves and have fun while learning! A typical lesson plan includes: understanding knowledge gaps to work on, walking students through practices, and then giving them independence to try out the practices. I tutor anyone from middle school to high school, and I do not discriminate against anyone with learning challenges.
