About Aquila
I’m a College Jr. anticipating a BA in English (concentration in writing) with a secondary (7th-12th) teacher certification and a minor in theatre. I began teaching ESL to Spanish speaking adults at the age of 19 and started my English/language arts tutoring at an in-home daycare at the age of 15 for children ages 5 and older.

I personally chose to teach based on the student’s need. I take the time to understand each individual and what their needs and reading/writing skill levels are at in order to teach them in the best way. Since English is so confusing at time, because of the rules, I use a lot of real life situations and examples to teach things such as literary devices and terms that must be remembered. Repetition is key when it comes to learning how to read and I focus of teaching phonetically versus teach sight words.
