About Andy
I am a fully qualified teacher secondary school teacher of SEN, GCSE English Literature and Language and French Teacher. I have been teaching for ten years, and tutoring for five years. I have a strong passion for tutoring, I enjoy watching pupils progress and creating innovative ways for them to learn. I am have over seven years of experience in teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs, and have worked with pupils with a variety of difficulties such as; autism, selective mutism, dyspraxia, deafness, as well as pupils with emotional and behavioural problems. Subsequently, I am well versed in teaching and learning strategies for pupils with Special Educational Needs. I am a good communicator, I have a thorough understanding of the multiple ways that pupils particularly with SEN absorb information, and I am adept at the adjustment of the tone in my voice, facial movements and the use of body language to express myself. Furthermore, I am very confident at managing behaviour within the classroom, the methods that I find most useful are ‘nipping in the bud,’ and positive reinforcement. I am a firm believer in treating pupils as individuals and managing behaviour through the planning of lessons and the engagement of the learning. I am very passionate about my work and I am a good listener, and I consistently cater my teaching to the interests of the pupils. Moreover, I am always observing the various ways in which different pupils learn and including this into my teaching. I have a good sense of humour and a genuine interest in expanding the worlds of pupils with learning difficulties. Other Qualifications : Diploma Metaphysical Science
