About Anael
Hello! My name is Anael Mumtaz. I am a 16-year-old incoming A-Level student at Nixor College, Karachi, studying Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Mathematics.
I recently completed my GCE O Levels at Beaconhouse School System under the pre-engineering track, taking Additional Mathematics as an optional subject:
Achieved Grades (O2): 3 A*s in compulsory subjects (Islamiyat 2058, Pakistan Studies 2059, Second Language Urdu 3248).
Expected Grades (O3): 6 A*s expected across my remaining subjects (Mathematics 4024, Additional Mathematics 4037, Physics 5054, Chemistry 5070, Computer Science 2210, English Language 1123), giving me a predicted record of 9 A*s overall.
Calculus & Analytical Depth: Having already completed Additional Mathematics (4037/0606), I have hands-on experience with intermediate-level calculus, algebraic manipulation, and advanced trigonometric problem-solving.
Having sat these exact papers very recently, I bring fresh, hands-on knowledge of current Cambridge exam patterns. I have extensive experience peer-tutoring my classmates in school, helping them break through difficult topics through collaborative, back-and-forth problem solving. My lessons are compassionate, interactive, and tailored entirely around the student's pace.

My Teaching Philosophy:
I firmly believe in a simple principle: No student is inherently "slow", "dumb", or "wrong"—if a student isn't paying attention or understanding, it is always the teacher's responsibility to make the lesson engaging. My ultimate goal in every 1-on-1 session is to keep the student actively engaged, to the point where my student talks more than I do during the lesson.
Our Step-by-Step Lesson Strategy:
Step 1: Brief Conceptual Breakdown
We start by breaking down the core concept in plain, simple terms. Neither O Level nor IGCSE Mathematics requires blind memorization—it is entirely about deep conceptual clarity and logic.
Step 2: Active Recall via Official Cambridge Syllabus
Instead of just listening to me talk, we immediately open the official Cambridge syllabus document for your subject code. You will read the official learning pointers line-by-line and explain back to me in your own words what each point means. Teaching it back is one of the single most powerful learning techniques available—re-explaining it locks the concept directly into your mind even if you were initially unsure. We repeat Steps 1 and 2 as many times as necessary until you feel 100% confident in the underlying logic.
Step 3: Topical Past Papers & Verbal Thinking
Once the concept is solid, we open topical past paper questions. I believe in building real confidence, so you will lead the problem-solving process first.
Verbal Explanation Rule: For the first 5 to 10 past paper questions of any topic, you will be required to explain your thought process out loud to me before writing down the answer. At this stage, how you derive the answer is far more important than making an educated guess or rushing to a final number.
Step 4: Top Coaching Techniques & Mark Scheme Strategy
Having studied under top professors and coaching institutes myself, I share all the specific problem-solving techniques, keyword triggers, and resources I gathered during my own prep. In Maths and Add Maths, we focus heavily on gaining full method marks and avoiding common examiner traps.
Step 5: Cumulative Topic Evaluations
After completing multiple chapters, we conduct a structured check-in test covering all topics studied so far to ensure long-term retention, making you completely "paper-ready" well before exam day.
