About Philomena
Students aiming for conservatoire admission often struggle with the transition to advanced theory, which is why I specialise in bridge building for international applicants. My Master of Music from the Royal Academy of Music provides the academic rigour necessary for mastering fingerpicking, scales and modes, ear training, blues progressions, and barre chords. After 13 years performing with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, I turned my attention to these technical disciplines. My approach combines the precision of a classical background with the flexibility required for modern guitar styles.
