About Antonio

I have tutored Latin for 10+ hours at various levels and achieved two gold medals on the level 3 and level 4 prose National Latin Exams. It brings me joy to spread the knowledge of a language almost lost but still very much alive in the Romance languages, of which Spanish has benefitted my understanding of Latin.

About the lesson

Latin is hard, and the key to any vast study is to break it down and master the fundamentals. My high school education instilled a philosophy of practice and repitition, while my college helped me grow more confident in translation with a wholistic approach rather than a systematic one. I see the worth in both and can employ a balance to ensure the student can translate Latin with understanding of grammatical organization and rhetorical meaning.

I have been tutored by antonio throughout my high school. Through two years and over 25 hours. He has helped me with my mathematics, (calculus, college algebra) and AP Chemistry classes. While being tutored I felt empowered and encouraged all the time even when I messed the problem up, something in his tone and language seemed that he was always ready to correct my thought process and help me understand my task better. Over time he eventually learned about me and I was able to communicate to him what to skip and what to focus on while teaching me and he listened and didn’t take offense. Very glad he was my tutor and helped me pass my ap chem and calculus class.
