About Karrina
I am a third-year physics student bringing more than two years of dedicated teaching experience to GCSE students in subjects ranging from English literature and language to mathematics, further mathematics, the three sciences, and French. My expertise is rooted in my affiliation with MyTutor. I have undergone comprehensive tutor training, passed a rigorous DBS check, and consistently engaged in yearly Prevent and safeguarding training to achieve qualified tutor status on their platform. On top of physics and tuition, I play violin at grade 8 level and enjoy painting.

My instructional approach is structured yet adaptable, beginning with an initial assessment to gauge the student's current level of proficiency. From there, we collaboratively formulate a tailored plan of action. Recognising the fundamental significance of building a strong foundation, I draw upon a wealth of educational resources to foster comprehensive understanding. This foundational approach is essential, as it is the bedrock upon which we build the student's knowledge and skills. Active engagement through practice questions is pivotal in assessing comprehension and hinges on establishing this robust foundation. As a tutor, I prioritise patience and open communication, recognising the value of dynamic discussions where students can freely explore ideas and concepts. I emphasise cultivating a positive tutor-student relationship, particularly with teenagers with strong personalities. This rapport enhances the learning experience and facilitates effective knowledge transfer. Moreover, I am committed to inclusivity, readily accommodating various learning needs, such as dyslexia and ADHD. I encourage students to communicate their specific requirements so that I can tailor my teaching methods to provide the most effective support.

Pricing: For one GCSE pupil, my rate is £18 per hour. For two pupils, it's £20 per hour. For any group of three pupils or more including three, I charge £8 per pupil. For A-level pupils, the rate is £25 per hour. In addition to my standard teaching services, I offer concise 1-hour summaries for combined foundation physics, with plans to extend this service to the triple sciences in the near future. Please note that I do not currently provide summaries for A LEVELS due to the depth of understanding required at that level, which cannot be adequately conveyed within a one-hour session. However, I continually develop my resources to serve my students' needs best. Cancellation policy: I have a 24-hour cancellation policy, meaning if you cannot attend a tutorial that starts within the next 24 hours, you won’t be able to cancel it. I put a lot of prep work into lessons and set time aside, especially to deliver them so that last-minute cancellations can have a real impact. For that reason, if you cancel within the 24-hour cancellation policy, I am within my rights not to issue a refund.
