About Imaan

I am a third-year student majoring in mathematics, English and history. I have been giving private tuition for a few years now and I have a passion for literature. I am relatable, passionate and patient. I have increased the marks of all the learners I've taught and I made sure they had fun. I do not use conventional methods to teach as I believe that studying is more than just for tests, but to learn and enjoy the art of language.

My way of thinking of training is that all kids are interesting and should have an animating instructive condition where they can develop truly, intellectually, inwardly, and socially. It is my longing to make this kind of environment where understudies can meet their maximum capacity. I will give a protected domain where understudies are welcome to share their thoughts and face challenges.
The idea of providing information should be relative. Each learner is unique, and its training should fulfil its requirements. The training should allow the child to become intellectually as well as inwardly. Students should be given the option of thinking everything alone. They don't need to bother with an educator who will take away their freedom of thought and creativity.
I will use different communication methods in order to teach all different types of learners. I will use the Shannons model (using a medium with barriers) which brings about the collaboration between human and machine and uses transmitters to communicate. An example of this is that I would use apps such as D6 which is a communicative website; the internet, so the learners can do their own research. While using the internet I will take the learners to the computer labs to do research as I know that some learners cannot access computers or the internet at home due to circumstances. Another model that I will use is the Schramm model. Which basically states that communication is a two-way thing where the only factors are encoders, decoders and the message. I will use this model when it comes to group projects and in my general classroom. The last model I will use is Berlos interpersonal communication model which acknowledges that there are multiple means and mediums for communication and people aren’t just what they were taught but are living beings with senses and feelings. I would use this model when it comes to social events in school such as valentine’s day.

The reason for using different models to teach communicative models is for behavioural responses. In order to figure which model to use I will analyse the circumstances that form the setting for an event, statement, or idea, and in terms of which it can be fully understood and deduce the model from that.

In order to be a ‘good’ teacher I look at different types of functioning such as intellectual and emotional functioning. Keeping in mind that every learner is different, I will prepare a lesson for judging from the overall classes’ general mental ability, intellectual functioning, disorders and challenges. I will also make accommodations for learners suffering with mental, physical, emotional and cognitive disabilities as well as those that are academically gifted.

I will set my lessons using developmental theories in order to help each learner function at their highest potential independently. As a teacher you perform multiple roles and you spend more time with the learners than their own parents do. To ensure that the learners reach self-actualization, which is the highest level of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. To fulfil the learner’s physiological needs, I will start a feeding scheme in the school and get sponsors to give lunch packs for the learners. To earn more funds, I will use the biopsychosocialmodel. I will host community events and urge people to contribute to the school. For the safety needs, I will make myself available for them to talk to and work in hand with the school’s psychologist, counsellor, and/or social worker. Once the basic needs are met the learners should be able to at least focus but to reach the self-fulfilment needs, they will need belongingness and love needs which can be acquired through friends and any intimate relationship. Before reaching self-actualization, which is at the top of the hierarchy of needs, the learners will need to fulfil their esteem needs. To aid them in this I will give stickers and have a merit chart for when they do anything and use positive psychology, which acknowledges weaknesses and strengths and encourages the learners to self-reflect in order to overcome their weaknesses. I’ll use this approach alongside the asset-based approach which looks at the system and the community to find a solution.
