About Helena
I have a deep passion for science, learning and discovery. I’m especially interested in research, and I’ll be starting a Master of Research next year — a step that reflects how much I enjoy exploring scientific questions and understanding the world in greater depth.
Teaching is something I’ve always been drawn to. I genuinely enjoy explaining ideas, helping others understand challenging topics, and seeing that moment when everything finally clicks. Learning is such an important part of life, and I love being able to support students as they grow in confidence and curiosity.

My approach: I like to break topics down into simpler, more manageable ideas so students can truly understand the foundations before building up to more complex concepts. My approach is fun, supportive, and interactive — I believe learning science should feel engaging and fun. I make sure we regularly revisit key topics, check understanding, and use effective revision strategies so knowledge actually sticks.
Lesson length: My lessons typically last 1–2 hours, depending on what the student prefers and what we’re working on.
Experience: I’m new to tutoring professionally, but I’ve gained valuable experience helping my sister prepare for her recent GCSEs, which taught me how to explain concepts clearly and adapt to different learning styles.
Who are my lessons for? My lessons are ideal for students pre-GCSE, GCSE, and A-level, especially those who want to build confidence in biology, chemistry, or general science. Whether you’re catching up, preparing for exams, or aiming for top grades, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
