About Kasym
I am a musician from Kyrgyzstan, where I self-taught myself jazz and English. Later I obtained Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance in US university. For all the 3 years of me being in U.S, I have toured with a Funk Band “Joslyn and the Sweet Compression” all over USA (right after graduation) We have played around 80 shows over 6 months. Also, have Played gospel for 2 years at a Black Church with One of the top gospel organists Titus Robertson, who mentored me and took me under his wing. (Nowadays, play in churches in NYC.) In addition to that, have had countless gigs in different genres like Jazz, Funk, R’n’B. Recently, I obtained O-1 visa (extraordinary ability in the arts) and moved to NYC.

Lessons Will Be Tailored to Your Individual Needs, Goals, and Musical Interests With years of self-taught experience, marked by trial and error, combined with occasional studying under world-class guitarists, and extensive real-life performing experience, I offer a teaching approach that prioritizes efficient practice. My goal is to help you make the most of your practice time and avoid mindless repetition. lessons can cover the following topics: 1. Technique: Learn how to produce a great sound, control speed and dynamics, and develop the technical skills needed to achieve your musical goals. 2. Theory: Gain a deep understanding of the fretboard, jazz harmony, scales, chords, and music analysis to enhance your overall musicianship. 3. Learning Music: Focus on mastering the songs you love, learning jazz standards, quickly memorizing songs, and confidently tackling challenging sections. 4. Improvisation: Develop the ability to freely improvise in various styles, including jazz, blues, and rock. 5. Comping: Learn how to play effectively on with other musicians, ensuring you enhance the overall sound of the group. - -
