About Tremel
I am currently a junior at the University of Rhode Island, I have been on the honour roll/dean's list for 6 semesters in a row. I took many college math in my senior year of high school to help me gain more knowledge. I also was a finance major at the beginning of switching my major to Sciences.

As a math tutor, my approach focuses on creating an engaging and supportive learning environment that is tailored to each student's individual needs. I emphasize conceptual understanding by breaking down complex mathematical ideas into simpler, more digestible components. My teaching method also prioritizes problem-solving strategies, encouraging students to approach challenges methodically while understanding the reasoning behind each step. I aim to make learning interactive by using examples, diagrams, and real-life applications to make abstract concepts more relatable. Additionally, I adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s unique learning preferences, whether they are visual, auditory, or hands-on learners.
A typical lesson begins with a warm-up session where we review prior concepts or homework and work through a quick problem-solving exercise to build confidence. This is followed by the core lesson, where I introduce the day’s topic with a simple explanation and then guide the student through examples, starting with easier problems and gradually increasing the level of difficulty. Afterward, we move into a practice session where the student tackles problems independently while I provide constructive feedback and clarify any doubts. Finally, we wrap up by summarizing the key takeaways and, if appropriate, assigning optional homework to reinforce learning.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my relatable perspective as a university student actively studying math. I understand the challenges students face because I’ve recently experienced them myself, and I can share strategies that have worked for me. My passion for math drives me to find creative ways to make it exciting and accessible for my students. I take a highly personalized approach, tailoring my lessons to each student’s pace and goals while genuinely caring about their progress. I also draw on my university-level knowledge to show how foundational topics connect to more advanced applications, helping students see the bigger picture. as well as university freshmen or sophomores who need support with introductory math courses such as calculus, algebra, or statistics. I also enjoy helping middle school students build a strong foundation in math, and I’m happy to assist anyone looking to develop confidence in their mathematical abilities.
