About Jim
I’m a retired artist, video cameraman, editor, writer, and director. Working with IASTE (Local 52 and Local 600 & NABET-15) for 20 years, Starting as an Electrician I ultimately worked up to Director of Photography.
I met with Steve Jobs, founder of Apple Computer, who made me an Apple Developer and introduced me to Bill Gates who also made me a developer once they saw my work on AppleWorks, Apple’s first, multi-application program in 1984.
Upon Graduation from The School of Visual Arts I joined the Unions, IASTE and NABET working as crew on features, industrial and commercials.
While consulting for “LaserEdit East, a division of LaserPacific, that edits almost half of all the TV shows I held a seminar, at Laser Edit East on 45th street in New York City which I introduced Adobe to the 2 coders who created Cosa-Effects which Adobe purchased and turned into AfterEffects•.
But my crowning glory was working as Orson Welles’s personal assistant when he was at Young & Rubicam directing commercials. On the set of the famous “Paul Mason” wine commercial that Orson rewrote the script right on the film stage I watch as one of the fathers of Cinema plied his craft. What a thrill!!!.
Here’s a brief listing of some of my projects.
