It is my pleasure to introduce myself to you as your tutor. My name is Bertus, and I am a professional and experienced language teacher who is dedicated to helping you achieve your language goals.
My teaching style is adaptable, interactive, and tailored to your specific needs and learning preferences.
I have a 120-hour advanced TEFL/TESOL certificate and have a passion for helping students of all levels and backgrounds achieve their language objectives, whether it is to improve their business English, prepare for a language exam, or simply feel more confident speaking in everyday situations.

As a private tutor, my approach to teaching is student-centered and personalized. I believe that every student has unique needs and learning styles, so I adapt my lessons accordingly. My teaching methodology is based on interactive and communicative approaches, meaning that I encourage my students to speak as much as possible, while providing constructive feedback and correction.
What makes me unique as a teacher is my ability to combine traditional teaching methods with modern techniques and technology. I use a wide range of resources, including textbooks, videos, online platforms, and games, to create engaging and dynamic lessons. I also believe in fostering a positive and supportive learning environment, where my students feel comfortable and motivated to learn.
I am proficient in both English, and Afrikaans. I am able to teach in both of these languages, depending on the student's needs and preferences.
In a typical lesson with me, students can expect to practice all four language skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) in a balanced and structured way. We will start with a warm-up activity or review of previous material, followed by a presentation of new grammar or vocabulary, and then move on to practice activities, such as role-plays, discussions, or exercises. We will also focus on pronunciation and intonation.
My lessons are aimed at students of all levels, from beginners to advanced learners. I also work with students who have specific goals, such as traveling, studying abroad, or improving their job prospects.
Overall, my goal as a private tutor is to help my students achieve their language objectives in a fun, effective, and meaningful way. I believe that learning a language should be a rewarding and enjoyable experience, and I am committed to making that happen for my students.
