About Rachel
I am a Law student at Exeter University. My intention is to enter academia as opposed to practice. I love writing and teaching. I have a GCSE and A-level equivalent in English and I have several certificates in TEFL. I have some volunteering experience in conversational English with refugees and I homeschooled my son for 8 years teaching him to read and write and other necessary subjects. During this time I also built my own business.
I am well travelled and have experienced a great variety of cultures, a valuable skill for a teacher of a second language.

The TEFL course that I attended significantly focused on teaching methodology. The methods that we learnt were PPP (present, practice and production), ESA (engage, study and activate) and TBL (Task Based Learning). I personally enjoyed the flexibility of ESA, but any style or methodology which is active , engaging and functional is the most beneficial for the students.
