About Lydia
Grammar rules often trip people up before they even start speaking. I fix that by focusing on pronunciation and accent and intonation immediately.
We will tackle everyday phrases for beginners to build your confidence fast. My 13 years as a gigging musician taught me how to listen to the rhythm of speech.
I use that experience to make sure your conversational fluency feels natural. If you need exam preparation like DELF or DALF, we will work through those specific requirements.
My background as a self-taught speaker means I know exactly how to break down complex ideas. You will get straight talk and constant feedback during our time. Success comes when you stop worrying about perfection.

Fifteen years spent touring the chanson circuit really shaped how I hear language. It is funny because, while I am self-taught, my native Québécois roots keep my ear sharp for every nuance. I work with teens and kids who need help with reading comprehension or writing skills.
My approach is simple since I focus on idioms and expressions during our chats. Whether we are doing role play or dialogue practice, I keep things moving.
I have spent 13 years refining how I explain these tricky sounds. I genuinely enjoy helping students find their flow in a new language. You will find that I keep our time together focused on real communication rather than just textbooks. Expect a patient partner who values clarity above all else.
