About Phil
My maths education from GSCE onwards was very enjoyable, Maths I find to be the most rewarding subject, there is a right and wrong, some may struggle with this, I learned that asking a lot of questions was key and if it is too much of a hassle with a teacher, a 1 to 1 tutor is a great alternative. I went through GSCE helping a lot of my classmates with the work and found it very helpful to myself for revision. I can assure you nothing you ask is silly as I probably went through those exact same question to my teacher when I was at that level, quality over quantity.

Hello students! My name is Phil and am a tutor in maths GCSE, I achieved a grade 9 at GCSE Level 3 years ago and now am studying engineering at Southampton University. My technique is through working methods with a lot of engagement for all levels up to and including GCSE, with lessons being an hour long. I love helping others with maths as I know the real feeling of accomplishment when you work out a tough question or problem, maths is simple in the way there is only one correct answer, it has no grey areas like many of the other subjects. I would be able to help my students improve as I have been in the tough stage before in GCSE's, I struggled in the first year of so and therefore was always asking for extra help, it clicked after a while and hard work got me a 9. As I am currently doing mostly maths in my course at University I am fresh and ready to help others learn, 1:1 sessions are a huge help as I found out myself as a student throughout school, so I'm sure my guidance can help a lot of you. I go through methods meticulously as these are how you understand all areas of a question, and in my opinion once you use a method a few times, you have a topic well ingrained in your brain. Hope to be helping some of you soon!
