About Eve
Hi, I am Eve Than! I am a 4th-year university student majoring in Computing Science and Mathematics at the University of Alberta. I have 2+ years of experience in teaching high school and university level mathematics. I have obtained 800/800 in SAT Math Level 2 and currently have a CGPA of 3.97. I love helping my students improve and gain confidence while making sure that they feel supported throughout their academic journey!

I offer mathematics tutoring services to high school (Grade 9 - 12) students!
I will share my screen and write on my tablet while teaching online. I will send all my handwritten notes in a pdf to my students after the tutoring sessions. I also offer in-person lessons depending on the time and location.
We will work together as a team to:
- Form a strong foundation in understanding the relevant topics
- Recognize your common mistakes or topics that you are not confident with
- Walk through practice questions and summarize complex solutions into simple, easy-to-remember steps
- Understand the thought process behind solving each question
I would usually provide notes and extra practice questions with solutions to my students at no extra charge. The students can choose to go through the extra questions with me during the tutoring sessions
or by themselves outside of the tutoring sessions. The students are given a lot of freedom to decide what the tutoring sessions should focus on!
I will always make sure that my students feel respected, supported, and comfortable with making mistakes and asking questions in my lessons. There are no "stupid" mistakes or questions! All the time and effort that my students put into improving themselves in their courses will always be recognized and appreciated. ️ ️
