About Alias
My name is Alias Aji, and I am currently studying Engineering at the University of Liverpool. I became interested in tutoring because I have personally experienced the benefits that good tuition can provide.
During my GCSEs, I received tutoring in both Maths and Science, and the impact it had on my learning was substantial. It helped me identify gaps in my knowledge, improve my understanding of difficult topics, and develop better exam techniques. This experience showed me how valuable one-to-one support can be when preparing for exams.
Having been a student who benefited from tutoring myself, I understand the importance of having a tutor who is patient, approachable and able to explain concepts clearly. I believe tuition provides students with an opportunity to work on their individual weaknesses, build confidence and develop their understanding at their own pace.
I achieved Grade 7 in GCSE Maths, Physics and Chemistry, and I hope to use my recent experience of studying these subjects to help other students feel more confident and prepared for their exams.

My Approach to Tutoring
My aim is to make GCSE Maths, Physics and Chemistry easier to understand while helping students feel more confident in their abilities. I understand the challenges students face and the importance of knowing not only the content, but also how to apply it effectively in exams.
My Teaching Methods
I like to make my lessons interactive and exam-focused. Rather than simply explaining a topic, I encourage students to work through questions themselves so I can identify exactly where they need support.
I regularly use GCSE exam questions to help students become familiar with different question styles, understand mark schemes and develop strong exam technique. I also recommend revision methods such as flashcards, active recall and spaced repetition to help students remember key information.
Where appropriate, I use mock papers and timed exam practice to track progress and build confidence before exams. I will adapt each lesson to the student's individual needs, spending more time on topics they find difficult while continuing to strengthen areas they already understand.
Most importantly, I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I believe mistakes are an important part of learning, and I aim to create a friendly environment where students can learn at their own pace.
Lesson Length
My typical lessons are 1 hour, but I can be flexible depending on the student's age, goals and learning needs.
My Qualifications and Experience
I achieved Grade 7 in GCSE Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Having recently studied these subjects at A-Level, I have a good understanding of the GCSE curriculum, exam-style questions and effective revision techniques.
Although I am relatively new to tutoring, I can use my recent experience as a GCSE student to help students understand topics from a perspective that is relatable and easy to follow.
Who I Teach
I mainly offer tutoring for GCSE Maths, Physics and Chemistry, particularly for students who want to improve their understanding, confidence and exam technique.
I am happy to work with students of different abilities, whether they need help understanding a particular topic, want regular support throughout the year, or are preparing for upcoming GCSE exams.
