Using the Shanghai maths mastery approach allows students of all students to make accelerated progress, through rapidly identifying and closing gaps in their learning so that they can meet and surpass age-related expectations. A component of this methodology is the CPA (Concrete Pictorial Abstract) approach which exposes students to various representations, thus allowing them to securely develop their conceptual understanding.
As an English graduate, I also support primary and secondary aged learners to develop their reading skills (such as decoding, comprehension and inference). Additionally, pupils can develop their grammatical and writing skills through identifying and using key components such as grammar, punctuation and ambitious vocabulary
