About Dan
For the past 12 years I've been teaching at alternative education facilities that specialize in helping students who are struggling in a traditional classroom setting. I love to be creative when working with students and it has been my joy to help students make sense of subjects and topics that have frustrated them for a long time. I'm a father of 3 girls one of whom has special needs so I very much enjoy the opportunity to help students who face extra struggles. I've got my teacher's certificate in special ed and am well versed with modifications and accommodations should they be helpful.

I was never great at sitting and listening to a lecture. Instead I always liked to be doing something. Also I hated lessons where I didn't understand "why?" Students I work with will be active and solving real-world problems that matter to their own lives. My lessons are aimed at middle and high school students or undergraduates at the college level.
