About Marie
Learning music should be an accessible process where you feel encouraged to experiment and make mistakes. You will find that our time together focuses on breaking down complex movements into tiny, repeatable motions. Because I hold a degree in Vocal Performance from UBC, I emphasize how the guitar supports the musician as a whole artist.
Whether you are prepping for a grade exam or just playing for yourself, I provide free chord charts and tab sheets after each class so you always have a record of what we covered. These resources act as a map for your independent practice sessions. You will walk away from each meeting with a clear plan and the materials to keep the momentum going. Growth is inevitable when the path is clear.

Completing a BM in Vocal Performance at UBC provided me with a rigorous foundation in music theory and pedagogy that I apply to every guitar student I meet. You deserve an instructor who understands that learning a fretboard is as much about the physical mechanics as it is about the sound. Over 13 years of experience, I have developed techniques that help adults and absolute beginners grasp power chords and barre chords without unnecessary frustration.
Having guided 122 students through their musical development, I know that technical progress must go hand in hand with individual enjoyment. My role is to help you master acoustic technique and reading sheet music while maintaining a lighthearted, supportive environment. I look forward to supporting your musical growth with a neurodivergent-affirming perspective.
