About Grace

I am a Chemistry tutor with over 9 years of experience and a BSc in Chemistry with Environmental Science. I specialize in working with middle school students, helping them explore the basic concepts of matter and chemical reactions. My teaching style includes safe home experiments and engaging demonstrations that make learning hands-on and exciting. I often use relatable examples from everyday life, like cooking and cleaning, to show how chemistry is all around us. I believe that making chemistry accessible and fun is key to sparking curiosity in young learners. By breaking down complex ideas into simple, clear steps, I help students build confidence in their understanding. I enjoy seeing their eyes light up when they discover how substances change and interact. My lessons encourage questions and active participation, creating a positive and supportive environment. I also focus on safety, ensuring all experiments are easy to perform at home or in the classroom. Together, we explore the magic of transformations and the science behind the world we live in. My goal is to inspire a lasting interest in chemistry that goes beyond the textbook. Learning chemistry should be an adventure, and I’m here to guide students every step of the way. Let’s unlock the wonders of matter and reactions together!

This teaching approach focuses on making chemistry clear and relevant, especially in analytical chemistry and instrumental techniques. Lessons cover key topics like spectroscopy methods including NMR, IR, and UV-Vis, as well as chromatography and quantitative analysis. The style is relaxed and application-focused, helping learners see how these tools work in real lab settings.

Strong support is provided to students such as geneticists and microbiologists, guiding them step-by-step through understanding complex lab techniques. Concepts are broken down into manageable parts, with plenty of practical examples to connect theory to practice.

The goal is to build confidence in using and interpreting data from instruments. Hands-on discussions and problem-solving sessions are common, encouraging active learning. Questions are welcomed, and progress is closely tracked to ensure steady improvement.

With this approach, chemistry becomes more than just formulas; it becomes a valuable skill for lab work. Together, students develop a deeper understanding that supports their scientific careers. The focus remains on making chemistry practical and accessible. Let’s explore how chemistry tools can advance your research and knowledge.
