About Katherine
I am incredibly passionate about languages and encourage students to continue with their language studies. I am currently studying Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American studies at the University of Manchester which has only further enhanced my passion for Spanish. Furthermore, as a student ambassador, I spend a lot of time communicating with school students and teachers and educating them on the importance of languages not only in society but also on the brain and the health benefits bilingualism can provide. I want to help students excel in Spanish, whether that be to succeed in exams, or maybe even as a hobby that will open doors and grant career opportunities in later life. Whilst I adore studying Spanish, I also understand the difficulties that come with learning a language, especially when you have to do exams in listening, writing, speaking and reading in a language that feels so unfamiliar at times. Because of this, I want to help students gain confidence and proficiency in Spanish which will in turn reflect in your grades.

I cater to the specific learning requirements of each student whilst also making sure to focus on their weaknesses to help every student gain a well-rounded grasp of the language. If you are studying for exams (i.e., GCSEs, A Levels or Mocks), I work closely with the mark schemes to identify the most effective method for success within each exam board. I am a student ambassador at my university therefore I spend a lot of time interacting with students ranging from year 7-12 to give them "taster" sessions delivered in Spanish. I teach from beginners level all the way up to A Level. Each of my sessions is designed specifically for each individual based on what the student feels they need help with or their specific goals. I aim to keep sessions engaging and interesting whilst making sure the student receives a high level of language exposure. Lesson length can vary depending on your timetable and availability, but 40 minutes - 1 hour is recommended for optimal learning. I received an A in A Level Spanish, and since then I have been awarded First Class and 2:1 grades in my active studies.
