About Jamie Lee
I am a native speaker of English and a college-educated ESL Teacher with CELTA certification from Cambridge University. I have 5 years teaching experience all over the world (North America, South America and Asia) and have worked with the very reputable British Council. In addition, I have worked as a freelance tutor and have experience teaching groups or one-on-one lessons. I have taught all ages as well as all branches of English, including conversational, business and ESP English.

My teaching methods are based on the level of the students and are adjusted to the needs of the student and the way they learn most effectively. I put a lot of importance on proper pronunciation and grammar structure which helps students be understood and learn how to communicate effectively with English speakers.
I always discuss with the student before our first class, what their goals are and I like to learn about their previous English classes to get an idea of what works for them and what doesn't. I base my classes on the student's goals and the textbook of their choice, otherwise I will suggest a book which fits their criteria.
I approach classes with clear, concise methods. For a conversational class, I teach vocabulary through meaning, form and pronunciation, always explaining the grammar clearly with several examples. After checking their understanding, we follow up with practical speaking and listening activities. If students desire to focus on reading and writing as well, there will be follow up reading comprehension and discussion activities.
