About Matthew
I have three years of mentoring/tutoring experience, including one year with the University of Cambridge in a professional role.
I delight in tackling problems from multiple different angles, which is invaluable when tutoring as I can explain concepts in a way different to how a school or sixth-form would traditionally teach it. I do not standardise lessons and instead tailor every one to the specific pupil and their needs.
By trying to establish a passion for learning and problem-solving I set my pupils up for success that far outstrips the time they spend learning from me. The mindset is the most important part of academic success (or any success, for that matter) and I make this a priority!

I am very flexible in timings and can do weekdays or weekends. Lessons can be as short as 30 minutes or as long as 2 hours.
I can help with homework (though I won't do it for them) or set my own tasks if requested.
I am safeguarding trained and hold a DBS Enhanced certificate.
Online lessons, but no technology is required by the pupil except for a webcam, microphone and standard stationary (pen, paper, calculator if applicable).
You might be a capable student looking for that extra stretch to achieve the university place, exam or Olympiad result you want. You might be struggling to pass. Any level is encouraged to sign up and I would be delighted to have you - all you need is the desire to improve!
I charge £35 per hour for subject tutoring. This can be in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Geology or Physical Geography and can range from UK Year 7 to A-levels. All equivalent qualifications are also taught. First lesson is always free.
I charge £45 per hour for application tutoring due to the increased demand on my time outside of sessions. This includes UCAS applications (including personal statement reviews), entry exams, interview prep, Oxbridge advice and mock interviews.
