About Madisen
Hi! My name is Madisen, and I am a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am majoring in Biology on a Pre-Medical Track with a minor in Neuroscience. I have extensive tutoring experience across many disciplines, and was a National Merit Commended Scholar. I am certified by College Board for SAT Reading and Math, have served as a teacher's assistant for Algebra I, tutored Algebra 1 and Geometry in 1-on-1 settings for two years, Chemistry individually for 1 year, and elementary English and Science for 1 year to students in Ghana. I took 11 AP courses in high school, so I am able to teach any subject across elementary, middle, and high school. Outside the classroom, I dance competitively, cheerlead, and am an avid book reader. I am extremely adaptive for each student's learning style, whether it's targeted practice, video reviews, or any other methods that help the student best. I emphasize comprehension over memorization, and will often ask why students think a certain way so they can better understand processes and methods. I am open to elementary, middle, and high school level instruction with super flexible hours :)
