About Santiago
Hello! I’m a Maths tutor currently studying at the University of Bath, offering personalised support for students of all ages and ability levels — from early secondary school to GCSE and A Level. I achieved a Grade 8 in GCSE Maths and a B in A Level Mathematics, and I bring a calm, clear approach to every lesson. My aim is to help students truly understand the subject, not just memorise formulae. Whether you’re preparing for exams, catching up, or trying to boost your confidence, I’ll tailor each session to your individual needs. I use clear explanations, guided practice, and real-life examples to make challenging topics feel manageable. As a Maths tutor, I focus on building real understanding, not just memorising methods. I tailor each lesson to the individual student, making sure they feel confident and in control of their learning. Whether we’re tackling algebra, calculus, or exam preparation, I aim to make each concept clear and manageable through step-by-step guidance and active problem-solving. I often use a mix of visual explanations, real-life examples, and questions that encourage students to think critically — helping them truly grasp the "why" behind the maths, not just the "how." Lesson Format Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, but I’m flexible depending on the student’s needs. Sessions usually start with a quick review, followed by new material or problem-solving, and end with a short recap and questions. Qualifications and Experience I achieved a Grade 8 in GCSE Maths and a B in A Level Mathematics. I’m currently studying at the University of Bath, where I continue to build on my mathematical knowledge and academic experience. I’ve supported peers and younger students through mentoring and informal tutoring, and I enjoy helping others build confidence in maths. Who I Teach I tutor GCSE and A Level students, as well as younger learners (from around age 11+) who want to strengthen their maths foundations. I’m happy to support students aiming for top grades, or those who just want a bit more confidence and clarity.
