About Njaby
About Me Hi there! My name is Terence, and I’m a passionate and dedicated 3rd-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) student, currently specializing in English Home Language, Afrikaans First Additional Language, Mathematics, Natural Science & Technology, Life Orientation, and Life Sciences. I hold a National Senior Certificate (Matric - NSC), and I’m deeply committed to supporting learners academically and emotionally as they grow in confidence and ability. From early on, I knew I wanted to become a teacher—not just to deliver content, but to make a difference. Teaching allows me to empower learners with the tools to think critically, solve problems, and believe in themselves. It’s more than a career to me; it’s a calling. My tutoring style is warm, structured, and learner-focused. I strive to create a safe, encouraging environment where students are free to ask questions, make mistakes, and try again—because that’s how deep learning happens. I draw on both theory and real classroom experience to support my students with patience, clarity, and creativity. Whether you're in Grade 4–6 and need help in core Intermediate Phase subjects, or in Grade 10–12 tackling Life Sciences, I'm here to walk that academic journey with you. About My Teaching Approach As a B.Ed student majoring in English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Natural Science & Technology, Life Orientation, and Life Sciences, I bring a fresh, learner-centered perspective to private tutoring. My approach is grounded in inclusive and adaptive pedagogy—meaning I meet each learner where they are, build on what they know, and support them as they grow. I design lessons that are engaging, interactive, and based on CAPS-aligned outcomes, ensuring that learning feels both relevant and empowering. What makes me unique is my ability to combine strong subject knowledge with a nurturing, patient attitude that builds confidence. I don’t just teach content—I teach learners how to learn, ask questions, and develop critical thinking skills. I draw on real-world examples, visuals, and relatable scenarios to simplify complex concepts, particularly in Life Sciences and Natural Science & Tech. Languages I Teach In I am fully proficient in English and can provide lessons in English with high fluency. I am also confident in supporting Afrikaans learners as an additional language, helping them navigate vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension in a way that makes the language less intimidating. What to Expect From a Lesson With Me A typical lesson includes: A short diagnostic activity or warm-up to assess prior knowledge Clear learning goals explained upfront A mix of explanation, discussion, practice, and feedback Visual aids, real-life examples, and interactive exercises Closing reflection to consolidate learning and identify next steps I also offer tailored homework support, exam preparation strategies, and ongoing progress tracking to ensure consistent improvement.
