About Shilpa
I am a second year student at UCLA. I am majoring in Mathematics of Computation with a minor in Education Studies. I am extremely passionate about education and teaching because I love sharing my knowledge with others and watching them grow. In the future, I hope to become a calculus II college professor and I feel like tutoring is a great way to get started on my career path. I would love to help my peers gain the confidence to feel proud of their academic accomplishments and overcome seemingly impossible challenges!

My teaching method is to start with a conceptual basis on the material being learned. This allows the student to understand why they are learning the material and gives them a broad understanding on how to apply concepts. We will then walk through and practice examples so the student is able to apply the concepts. I have tutored all levels of math, chemistry, and physics throughout high school and my first year of college. I frequently tutor my peers in many of the courses I'm taking, so I have experience. What sets me apart as a tutor is I'm able to break down concepts conceptually because that is how I learn things. I feel that with a conceptual understanding, a student is given the best tools to apply their knowledge to any given problem or situation.
