About Zenab
I am a PhD student in Islamic legal theory and have a strong track record of academic achievement, including a near perfect score on my Masters dissertation at the University of London, and a 98th percentile score in writing on the SAT.
I am also a published author with a respectable career in writing and editing from creative writing to journalism and academia.
Despite my (over)achieving, I also remember what it is like to struggle with academics, particularly in the context of people with high and unforgiving expectations. I try to be professional where it matters - holding students accountable to a positive image of themselves - without letting a need for discipline get in the way of a supportive learning environment.

I begin our lessons with a frank discussion of your goals and what we can do to achieve them over a defined timeframe. We will then structure a class, together, that meets those goals and ensures that you feel excited as we do it. If the student is below a college/university level, I have these discussions with parents or other primary caregivers.
I have a flexible style that balances relaxed approaches with strictness of expectation. A typical lesson would be one to two hours and focused on a critical topic followed by practice. My lessons are designed to help people read and write on a college level and vary considerably based on their current standing.
Classes will be an hour to two hours, each. I prefer to assign homework, but if that is not realistic, we can talk about it.
