About Sinead
Hi, my name is Sinead and I am currently studying the IB. The subjects I am studying are Higher Level Biology, Geography and Economics and Standard Level Maths, English and French. I achieved a grade 8 in GCSE Maths, Geography and French. I currently mentor students in secondary school. I give advice, and I help them to overcome any difficulties they may be facing, in order to boost their academic confidence and performance. Having achieved exceptional GCSE results, I would like to pass on my knowledge to more students.

My approach to teaching varies depending on how a particular student learns best. I will adapt my teaching methodology accordingly. For example, some students have a preference for visual learning, so I will use mind maps and diagrams to explain key concepts clearly.
I will make relevant connections to the real-world, which will also make it more interesting and applicable to the individuals life. I will understand the specific needs of students and target these areas in the best way possible. Every lesson I will ensure that the student knows what part of the specification we are learning, I will also ensure that students overcome misconceptions. After a concept is taught and fully understood, the student will do practice questions and also be given practice exam questions in timed conditions to do before the next lesson. I will make sure that concepts taught the week before are briefly revisited at the beginning of every session, because repetition is the key to success. I will encourage the students to ask questions during the sessions. Students who are inquisitive will gain a deeper level of understanding.
