About Beatrice
Hey! My name is Beatrice (Bea for short), and I am passionate about making maths less stressful and more fun. I am a third year university student, studying my BSc in Economics at Goldsmiths. Once upon a time I struggled with maths, and I remember it feeling almost impossible to do. So I completely relate and have empathy for students feeling a similar way. It wasn't until I had a new maths teacher where my feelings towards maths changed, and I shifted from thinking, "OMG I can't do this", to... "wait, I'm actually getting the hang of this." Maths is such an important subject, both academically and personally. It opens up so many opportunities career wise, and I would love to help any students who may struggle with it achieve their goals and pass their maths GCSE.

Hi! I am a supportive online GCSE Maths tutor helping students to build confidence and boost grades. My techniques and teaching methodology: Maths can often be a tricky subject to grasp. It can feel overwhelming at times, and I am here to help with that. I really believe a student's teacher can help shape how they feel about a subject, and so I ensure my approach is friendly, kind and engaging for students. I focus on making maths clear, manageable and confidence-building for every student. Lessons are tailored to each student's needs. To maintain focus and engagement, I often use the Pomodoro method. This follows that after 25 minutes of work a 5 minute break is taken. This is to help reduce procrastination and improve focus. Typical length of a lesson: 30-90 minutes. I am flexible on timings. My qualifications/experience: I have an 8 in GCSE Maths and an A in A-Level Maths. I have experience working with children; both voluntary and paid positions. I volunteered for 2 years at an after school club and also worked for We Speak helping A-Level and University students improve their speaking confidence for 18 months.
