About Tate

I have spent fourteen strategic years training more than 520 students in the analytical tools and conceptual frameworks of modern economics. My academic credentials include a doctoral degree in economics with specialization in game theory and international trade and several years of experience as a policy economist at a central bank. I have taught at universities economics institutes and in private tutoring settings developing expertise across secondary undergraduate and graduate curricula. My students have entered careers in economic consulting international organizations finance and academia. I am particularly skilled at helping students understand the strategic dimensions of economic decision-making and at connecting abstract theory to the geopolitical realities of international trade. I maintain an extensive collection of economic simulations game theory exercises and current policy case studies. Outside of teaching I advise government agencies on trade policy write about behavioral economics in public policy and enjoy strategy board games that illustrate economic principles. I believe that economics is ultimately about understanding human choice under constraints and I am committed to helping every student develop that understanding deeply.

My economics teaching is strategic and interdisciplinary connecting economic theory to psychology political science and real-world decision-making. For game theory I teach students to model strategic interactions between rational agents using payoff matrices extensive form games and Nash equilibrium concepts with applications to business competition auctions and international negotiations. Behavioral economics is explored through the study of cognitive biases heuristics and prospect theory showing students how real human behavior systematically deviates from the predictions of standard economic models. International trade policy is taught through the analysis of comparative advantage trade agreements tariffs and the political economy of protectionism using current case studies from around the world. I emphasize the development of analytical skills teaching students to construct economic models test hypotheses with data and evaluate policy arguments critically. Every lesson includes the analysis of current economic news research papers and policy debates. For examination preparation I teach systematic approaches to essay writing data response questions and the evaluation of economic arguments. I also mentor students in developing research proposals and preparing for economics olympiads and university admissions tests.
