About Greg
I was just like most people in elementary/middle school, I HATED math. Partly because of how my grades reflected, but mostly because I just didn't understand it. The main frustration came from teachers trying to teach a new operation while assuming (incorrectly) we already knew other required operations to c complete problems. I remember sitting there halfway through many lessons thinking, "You already lost. I give up." It wasn't until my freshman year of high school that I had my first GOOD math teacher. He had a natural passion for math and was very good at explaining new ideas and concepts. This was when I finally started to enjoy math and actually became quite good at it. When something is explained properly, it can be understood fully by anyone. If you don't truly understand what you're teaching, students will never fully funderstand. I thoroughly believe many teachers are so out of practice in their math skills, that they can only teach lessons based on the grammar of the text book. When it comes time for questions and further explaining, they just refer back to their textbooks and it becomes a cycle of repeating the same explanation over and over again. Understanding math and why things are the way they are, I believe I have the ability to help anyone understand mathematical concepts to achieve independence in their studies.

Math can be hard when it doesn't make sense, but it becomes fun once that light clicks and everything suddenly makes sense. Something about that level of independence makes it enjoyable to put new skills into practice, as opposed to the experience that makes you want to give up. I'm here to help you achieve that independence and satisfaction of gaining new skills.
