About Sandy
My MA in Clinical and Counseling Psychology in the SMBI (Spirituality Mind Body Institute) Program at Teachers College, Columbia University reflects the dedication I have to refining my skills as a facilitator and active listener as well as a resource for holistic approaches and practices for healing and well-being. I have been in education for over ten years, integrating academic growth with personal growth with the belief that inner knowledge and learning results in self confidence allowing outer success to be fulfilled. I have studied and facilitated SEL (Social Emotional Learning) in a NYC public school, studied positive psychology, and assisted in a workshop course that created and implemented wellness workshops for the TC community.

I practice Socratic Dialogue, or inquiry, as my pedagogy. It is based on the belief that you already hold the answer and my duty is to ask (the right) questions to help you remember them, allow them to become uncovered. Therefore, although I may take on the role of tutor/teacher, our work is a mutual process where you possess self-agency and knowledge. I'm simply here to help get it expressing.
