About Edward
Hi my name is Ed. I am based in Hobart, Tasmania. I am currently working as a Crown Counsel (Barrister and Solicitor) with the Office of the Department. I have worked as a practicing lawyer for 7 years. I saw the School Captain of The Hutchins School and delivered multiple speeches as part of that role. I was awarded the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship to Bond University and studied Law and Business. I graduated with both degrees with Honors in Law. I have held leadership positions in sporting clubs and recreational clubs. I have been the president of an AFL Football Club on the Gold Coast for 3 years, the vice-president of the Law Students Association and a member of the Student Association at Bond University. I have coached many sports teams as a part-time career and voluntarily. Since commencing my professional career, I have regularly appeared in the Magistrates Court, Supreme Court, Federal Circuit Court and Federal Court of Australia. I now primarily appear in the Supreme Court of Tasmania and conduct jury trials. I have served on as a director and the secretary of the Adventure Patch Board for 3 years. All of these roles, at varying times, have required me to speak in front of groups or large gatherings of people.

I am a practicing lawyer and have been for the last 7 years. I am passionate about coaching, mentoring and tutoring people and have done this privately and through different companies for many years. I have a particular interest in public speaking. I have developed my skills as a public speaker for many years and use those skills daily in the courtroom. I am also engaged regularly as an MC for events (Weddings, quiz nights etc). My lessons about public speaking are tailored to each individual and the circumstances that they are in. All public speaking is underpinned by some fundamental principles but from there, the lessons will be determined by what the particular individual is looking for as part of their development in this space. My lessons are suitable at all levels for all types of people and generally go for 1 hour. This also includes assistance with speech writing as well as the delivery of the speech.
